where the hell did summer go?
Seriously, what the hell happened to summer? It's a huge bummer to believe that there is only about 2 weeks left of summer break. I've done QUITE a bit, but it never seems long enough. I've had some pretty amazing experiences this summer. From going to California, Melanie's Sweet Sixteen, working three 12hour shifts a week, and managing to live the life of a 21 year old. I've gotten close to a certain few people this summer (ya'll know who you are). Driving home from work the other day and seeing that it was dark already at 8pm was an unfortunate reminder of whats to come in a few weeks.
Mount Sinai. What an awesome experience! It was definately a sacrifice I had made this summer and thank god I did. Three days each week was all it was. Working in the GI Care Center definately was NOT as bad as I thought it would be. I learned a lot this summer and I have my preceptor(s) to thank for that as well as the other nurses there on that floor. I really hope we all keep in touch with each other. It was honestly a bittersweet ending. Sad in the sense that I'm leaving them all there as I return to school, but sweet in the sense that I can have some time to myself before school starts. Either way, I really enjoyed working on that floor and I definately would consider it as one of the places I would work post graduation.
Along the way in the SNI Program, I have met some pretty cool people from all different places. Nursing students from all over the country had signed up to all be together in NYC. Granted we were only really close with each other for the first few weeks, it was awesome to meet these people. Good luck with everything this last year of school (who knows if any of you will actually read this??).
Photography. Ever since I picked up my 20D back in Janruary, I've always wanted more time to get behind my black box and capture life. I've been able to do just that this summer. Photography seems to be one of things I've been into since high school. Now that I've got equipment, I can actually get out there and shoot shoot shoot! I absolutely LOVE to hear of any opportunities to take a picture, so please if you want someone to photograph ANY of your events, please let me know. This past week I decided to pull the trigger and upgrade to the 30D from the 20D. These isn't much different between these two other than the 30D doesn't freeze like my 20D did. I also managed to pick up a speedlight for my birthday from the parentals which totally help with the lighting. All in all the camera makes me happy. I really enjoy what comes out from it and I hope you all do too.
Import Shows. Last weekend was HIN City. I managed to sneak down from the rock with Tom, Colleen, and Turbojew for a day of looking @ rice rockets! I've totally been out of this scene for SO LONG. It's changed a bit from what it used to be. Anyway it was fun bringing the camera with me. I've met MANY models from the show by way of Myspace =). For those of you who are into the car scene, do yourself a favor and check out the Funkmaster Flex show in Atlantic City. I'll be there shooting it so if I see you there, I'll take your picture!
Snakes On A Plane. After ALL the hype, I FINALLY saw it! If you're wondering what my personal review is, definately go see it. If you've seen any of the photoshops anywhere on the Internet, you totally have to see it. It wasn't the best of movies story wise, but it will entertain you for two hours. Snakes on a motherfuckin plane!
