Summer Recap (thus far)... aka whatever the hell I can blabble about right now.
So as many of you may or may not know, I've been working as a student nurse intern at Mt. Sinai in the GI Care center. This has been taking a great amount of my time this summer, however not as bad as you may all think it has been since work is only three days a week. I really enjoy it and to me it doesn't feel like working (minus the getting up part, commuting, and having to deal with the daily traffic). In this program, there are 15 of us domestic students as well as six exchange students from Korea. I've met some wonderful people through this experience (probably some of which will never read this). Oh well...
What else has derek been up to this summer... (for those who may know better than me, feel free to chime in).
Last week, rather a week and a half ago, I spent two days of the week at the beach; belmar to be more specific. It's always a good time to lay out on the warm sand with awesome peoples. For the first time in my life I was burried in the sand, and what better way to get burried in the sand but vertically! It was Kathy's idea to be unique and to bury me vertically in the sand.
With everyone's help (most specifically her brother) we managed to dig a hole deep enough for me to get into; which was more like a tunnel to China @ my height. After everyone's hard work, we reigned successful (with plenty of pictures to prove it).
The next day was Tom's birthday. He had mentioned in the past that he'd never been to Medival Times before. So what did we do? Collen & I had planned to take him there for his 20th birthday.
Being that he hasn't been there before, why not go all out! Colleen had made arrangements for him to get knighted! Overall it was a good time as always, eating chicken with our hands with pepsi and beer. Unwillingly, our blue knight had lost and the green power ranger had saved the day, reigning victorious.
This past week, I had been home alone and had managed to behave the entire time (parents so proud haha). Work was really what kept me out of trouble. Having 8 days of freedom was always a good time and I've managed to do tons of different things.
Monday: I had met up with Laurence and Drew @ GSP. Thereafter we headed back to the ROC to watch Pirates of New Orleans and dinner @ Stir Crazy. Homeboys spent the night here as we watched Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift in my room ("'Driftin... what's that?") pwahaha and then went to work with me the next day.
Friday: I think I played all the golf that I ever will for the 2006 season. Driving range, then mini-golf, and even managed to sneak in a game of laser tag later that night @ New Roc City.

On Saturday was Petey-Pop's graduation party. It became almost like a pseudo Albertus reunion being that many of croonies were all there. I had a really good time actually (minus the weather). For some reason I had managed to find myself hovering around my good friend, senor kegstah!

Sunday was an absolute beautiful day and I'll let the pictures do all the talking.
Overall summer has been great and I really don't want to go back to school, or work tomorrow for that matter haha!
